What is DRIFT?
Process and computer program for capturing the links between river flow and ecosystem functioning
Time-series based assessment
Uses a data, knowledge and experience to predict how the river ecosystem will change
Informs the social assessment of potential impacts on river users
Based on external hydrology, hydraulic and sediment modelling of development plans; and water quality modelling if available:
Minimum requirement for hydrological data
Will accept and integrate ANY modelled data
Where models are not available, such as for geomorphology, vegetation, fish abundance, DRIFT will create time-series of ecosystem responses
